Fertilizer export policy has made great progress this year compared with the past. As for the impact of such low tariffs on the international market, this must be analyzed from the aspect of volume and price. Taking the domestic urea export as an example, China exported 8.26 million tons in 2013, which accounted for about 18% of the global trade volume, which had a significant impact on the international market. As can be seen from the data, China’s urea export volume was only 1.3 million tons in the first half of the year, and the export volume in the four export months of 7, 8, 9, and 10 has reached 5.2 million tons, and exports in the window period accounted for 70 percent of the annual export volume. %.

Prior to the export window period, China’s urea export price was US$380, and at the end of the window period, the export price dropped to US$302. There is a saying that as long as China's export window is opened, the price of international fertilizers will inevitably fall, which is particularly evident in the diammonium phosphate products. Last year China exported a total of 3.82 million tons of diammonium, which accounted for 27% of global trade. Before the window period began, China's diammonium export price was more than 500 US dollars, but the price fell to about 400 US dollars at the end of the window period.

Currently, China’s urea exports account for 1/8 of domestic production, while diammonium exports account for 1/4 of domestic production capacity. When the export policy is further relaxed, it is expected that the future fertilizer exports will increase, and the impact on the international market will become more apparent.
