According to research reports released on January 8 by China Merchants Securities, the current capacity of nuclear power plants built and under construction is about 48 million kilowatts. According to the nuclear power construction period of 5 to 6 years, there is still a 10 million kilowatt deficit that does not require construction in 2015. . According to the current plan, most of the planned projects should be launched in 2015. It is expected that a new round of nuclear power project bidding will be initiated in the near future.

The construction of nuclear power plants requires a large amount of high-quality steel. According to the "12th Five-Year Plan" nuclear power development plan, by the year 2020, the number of nuclear power generating units in operation will reach 58 million kilowatts, and the scale under construction will reach 30 million kilowatts. By then, the annual demand for China's nuclear power steel will increase to About 15 million tons.

At present, only companies that can produce nuclear evaporator tubes in China are only Longlite and Baosteel Special Steel. China Merchants Securities believes that it is expected that with the launch of the nuclear power industry in the future, the two companies are expected to continue to lead the entire nuclear power market.

The company is the only listed company in the field of domestic nuclear evaporator tube production, with a nuclear power capacity of 500 tons and an annual production capacity of 690 U tubes of 250 tons. Baosteel Special Steel is a joint venture of Baosteel Co., Ltd., China Guangdong Nuclear Power Group and Jiangsu Yinhuan Precise Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. Its 690U localization project was officially put into operation in December 2009. The planned production capacity in 2014 will reach 2,000 tons. In December 2014, Baosteel Special Steel signed a "Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement" with Jiuliite Material Co., Ltd. to achieve strong cooperation in the field of special quality steel.

In addition, companies such as Fushun Special Steel and TISCO Stainless that produce high-quality special steel and high-end steel products will also be opened again with the restart of nuclear power. Prior to this, Fushun Special Steel and TISCO Stainless had supplied high-grade nuclear-grade steel materials such as superalloys and nuclear grade stainless steels to Shandong Rongcheng Shidaowan State Nuclear Power CAP1400 third generation nuclear power units.

Fushun Special Steel is a leading high-temperature alloy company in China, with a market share of approximately 60%. As the country's first pilot production base, its products have long dominated the defense industry. In the first half of 2014, its production of high-temperature alloys increased by 68% year-on-year to 2,391 tons. It is expected that the annual production in 2014 will reach 5,000 tons.

TISCO stainless steel is currently the largest stainless steel production base in China. It has pioneered the development of 304, 304H stainless steel plates for AP1000 nuclear reactor internal components, becoming the sole supplier of this material in China. At present, the company can produce special stainless steel materials for CAP1000 nuclear reactor internal components, stainless steel composite panels for injection box, nuclear grade I, II, III stainless steel, etc., and its stainless steel products have been used in Qinshan nuclear power plant.
