Recently, the research team of Zhang Huamin and Zhang Hongzhang of the Department of Energy Storage Technology of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences successfully developed a carbon-sulfur composite positive electrode based on a large pore volume, high specific surface, and gradient-order porous carbon material. The primary battery energy density reaches 500Wh/kg (650Wh/L) or more. The research group broke through the technical bottleneck of lithium sulfur primary battery key materials, the battery energy density has been increased to 860Wh/kg (1000Wh/L) or more, shelved stability is good, stable operation at room temperature, has a good prospect of industrial development.
