Recently, SensoPartIndustriesensorik developed the FA45 vision sensor to monitor the entire control panel of the adjacent switch and to detect the color and function of all LEDs.

While color LEDs have become a standard component in many industrial electronic display devices, engineers lack a reliable and economical method for automated detection of LEDs during production. The correct color of each LED and its display needs to be visually detected, and it is very difficult to automate this process because traditional color sensors cannot detect self-illuminating objects. Some industrial light barriers and photoelectric proximity switches are equipped with control panels, while panels are made up of color touchpads with seven integrated LEDs. SensoPartIndustriesensorik recognizes this need in the production of these products. The FA45 Vision Sensor is available now and includes a CCD camera that includes white LEDs, M12 sensor connectors, PLC compatible I/O and data interface devices, and aluminum or plastic housings.
